Bethel Heights 2019 West Block Pinot Noir

The West Block is a toasty wine with touches of walnuts and hazelnuts around black fruit flavors. Planted in 1977 this block layers on fruit, acid, tannin and earth highlights in perfect proportion. The overall darkness seems typical of the various Pinots from this estate, and it lends a sense of constrained power to all of the wines. Compact when young, these are wines to cellar and enjoy over many years. The 2018 vintage is also recommended. These notes are for 2019.

186 cases; 13% abv; $60
