Domaine Divio 2020 Hyland Vineyard Pinot Noir

Lovely aromatics conjure up berry turnovers and cherry pie. This old vine vineyard includes what is commonly known as the Coury clone, and this is all Coury planted in the early 1970s, aged 11 months in 30% new French oak. As with everything from Divio the balance is perfect and the texture impeccable. Even in a fraught vintage such as this, when any number of wineries didn't make any Pinot at all, Bruno Corneaux found a way to make outstanding wines. This has instant appeal along with the structure to age beautifully over the rest of the decade.

200 cases; 13.5%; $65
