Fields Family 2016 Kirschenmann Vineyard Zinfandel
I stumbled upon this Lodi winery some years ago while driving to Sacramento. Their limited production wines are sold via mailing list. The website does not allow for purchase but you can sign up for future releases with no specific commitment necessary. The next release is later this month. Such gems as old vine Zins, Grenache Blanc, Bechthold Vineyard Cinsault from vines planted in 1886... wow! These are spectacular wines that sell in the $25 - $28 range. I pulled this Zin out of the cellar and found it in a glorious drinking window, bursting with rich flavors of berries and chocolate. The entire bottle was consumed in a flash. Love these wines!
