Freedom Hill is in the new Mount Pisgah AVA, about 50 miles from the ocean and bordering the eastern slopes of the Coast Range. This opens with aromas of cranberries, raspberries, some earthy phenolics and a hint of tanned leather. Its primary fruit flavors mix tart red berries, sappy and persistent, followed with drying tannins. This may be the most ageworthy wine of the excellent 2019 Pinot Noir lineup from Ken Wright. Drink now into the mid-2030s.
